Machine-guided splitting –

safe and extremely productive!

• Best solution through different mounting options

• Easy insertion

• Rotable and versatile

• Lighter than competing products

• For carriers from 5 - 7 tons

Fast. Powerful. Reliable.

These are just a few of the many benefits that the Darda C20 hydraulic splitter offers.

This machine mounted attachment is used for the demoliton of rock and large masses of concrete. Run off the auxiliary hydraulic circuit of the carrier, the integrated booster increases the circuit pressure to over 7,000 PSI, delivering a total split  force of 1,500 tons (short wedge set) to 1,800 tons (long wedge set). Using the time-tested and proven principles of the Darda handheld splitters , this tool is an excellent option when excavating the hardest rock formations. With an integrated lubrication system, the C20 further increases productivity while reducing premature wear of the wedge set. Able to be run off machines as light as 5 tons, this tool brings immense power to jobsites where progress was previously limited by equipment size. However, this tool can be found on large projects as well, offering high production rates in site development, trenching, and road expansion work. The versatile platform boasts four unique mounting configurations, each designed to optimize efficiency in unique applications.

The C20 is the largest Darda splitting cylinder and is designed to be used in conjunction with a 5-7 ton excavator. The cylinder is mounted to the carrier using one of four different methods: chain, carriage, and two different types of rigid mounting configurations. The C-20 is extremely well suited for ledge work and larger trenches, and is effective at removing large blocks of rock.

The Darda C20 hydraulic splitter increases production rates when excavating solid bedrock, breaking large boulders, carving trenches, tunneling, or reducing oversized rock from blasting.

Why is the Darda C20 better than other carrier mounted splitters? Honestly,

it’s a no brainer. But let me walk you through it.

  • Darda GmbH is the inventor of hydraulic rock splitting
    -  Absolute 100% guaranteed the most experience with manufacturing hydraulic splitters
    -  Highest quality of engineering and materials
    -   Likely the most perfect combination of POWER, RELIABILITY, AND EFFICIENCY
  • Darda and Elco WILL support you
    -   Elco maintains an over 45-year old relationship with Darda, who has been producing hydraulic rock splitters        for over 50 years
    -   Incredibly knowledgeable staff
    -   Most extensive North American Dealer Network
  • The ONLY hydraulic rock splitter trusted by:
    -   United Rentals
    -   Sunbelt Rentals
    -   Herc Rentals
  • Comprehensive product support- both for application and service / maintenance

  • Bigger does not necessarily mean bigger. In this case, bigger, in fact, Means it will be
  • Harder to transport
  • Cost more to run
  • Be a waste of your time

  • Larger alternative hydraulic splitters can’t even be compared to the Darda C20.
    -   Darda C20 builds 7,200 PSI!
    -   Anyone that knows anything about hydraulics knows that actual pressure = ACTUAL force.
    -   2,000+ PSI more than “ultra-large” splitters
    -   Double that of most competitors’ splitters

  • Darda C20 maintains low PSI on the plug and feathers
    -   Prevents the rock from pulverizing
    -   Allows rock to hold together and create bigger splits (more volume per hole)
  • Automatic greasing is a huge cost-saver
    -   Precise amount of grease is applied to the wedge set
    -   Auto shut-down prevents dry-runs of plug and feathers; reduces costly plug and feather replacement
  • Smaller cylinder volume = shorter cycle times
    -   Simple math
    -   Shorter cycled times means increased production rates
  • Economics?
    -   Where do alternative splitters come from? (MAJORITY IS ASIAN)
    -   Asian imports are looking glum for the near and distant future…
    -   Could mean that getting parts are cost-prohibitive for these tools
    -   Competitors’ large hydraulic splitters are in all cases more expensive than the Darda C20
    -   Darda will always command a higher resale price due to its extreme quality, reliability, and support
